On Saturday, May 30, FRIDA plans to visit Alton, Illinois, the site of the abuse-homicide of 29-year-old Dorothy Dixon, who had a developmental disability and was six month pregnant when she was found dead in a home in Alton in January 2008.  We will coordinate a community memorial on May 30 to spearhead awareness of violence against all people with disabilities.  Several members of FRIDA will travel to Alton on May 30 in preparation for activities on May 30.  We are still nailing down an exact location but we plan to have the memorial around 11 am and will update as soon as we can confirm a time and place.  Anyone living in the area or willing to drive the distance is welcome to join us.
